She's not expected to do this

She could pay it like a lot of country girls are

Taylor hasnt been a country girl for years. She's a pop artist. And when I say 'expected', I dont necessarily mean to speak about it. I just mean that any one with common sense will be in support of all these BLM movements. Taylor is not the average conservative country artist some ppl make her out to be. She was never rly that girl.

Taylor carried all those fans she had as a country singer into her pop career

I just don't think u girls realize how huge her platform and reach is
yeah that's nice and all

i just don't think anyone needs to be jumping up and down praising it. Any decent human being should be all about this movement  :dead:

I get what you mean. No one needs to throw her a party bc she's not racist  :dead:

It's more like a sigh of relief that she's a reasonable human being and not scared to speak what's right over potential sales losses and whatnot.

!!!! Overall, i think she's a good person. That's all i care about.

Just be genuine about it and atone for any past micro-aggressions or missteps and support however you can without feeling the need to overcompensate like many are so clearly doing.

This may be too analytical but white people have a hard time being humbled. So even if we now realize our past racial transgressions, we tend to go overboard with the "making up for it" and want to be recognized for how good of a job we're now doing  :dead:

It's a fine line and I'm glad white people are starting to get it and use our privilege for good, but I cringe when it comes across as performative and showy.

I'm doing my best to show support without taking away from black voices. I've got my BLM t-shirt but I've been hesitant to wear it out regularly bc I don't know if I'll be feeding into that white savior narrative. So mostly I've been chipping in to black organizations on the low to try to do my part. That's what I did with my stimulus check. Ultimately I think right now whites need to prop up the black community without talking over/for them.
