I will say, gospel girls don't really have the luxury of EVER pre recording their mess unlike pop girls, r&b girls, etc so unless u have a really strong voice that's built for live singing ALL THE TIME, I get it.  Erica been singing for 20 yrs. Those vocal chords are fried.  When she went to the DR. on that show and he told her that her vocal chords were BLEEDING :omf:

She wasnt always awful guys.

If u watch THIS performance during their debut era, Erica was LASHING! Almost on par with Tina. Her tone has gotten so ugly over the years - her vocal decline isnt kinda reminiscent of Alicia and Christina to me. The tone change and lack of range.

But HERE. She KILLED!

Their last 2 albums, she sang lead on most of the songs too. I always wondered why. But then again, her husband is their producer. Tina was prob pissed.
