Sure, he has songs that is a clear inspiration of old school R&B, but he's pop to me.

Almost every artist has dabbled into different genres but we dont go around saying Usher is a pop artist. Brandy did Human but she's R&B.

Most of Janet's music is R&B but she's considered a pop act mainly because she crossed over.

Ehhh - I'd say its a mix. And most of her singles I'd say is more pop sounding.

It's a mix definitely but id say 2/3 of her singles are R&B. Control, Nasty, WHYDFML, RN, Alright, CBTM, Miss You Much, etc. are straight up nigga tunes
