yeah that would be nice for her . Ur doing the right thing though. Be optimistic but not too anxious about it

It's just money. But if ur mom does get it that would be amazing so she could enjoy her older years carefree.

If he sold the property already it all depends on who he sold it to tbh

if it was sold to another family member then there's something to explore but if it was entirely sold to a stranger who just picked it up I don't see how the family could have any rights to it.

once somethings sold to a new owner it's theirs. Their name is on the property and everything is left to their discretion.

I'm saying this assuming you're in the states. If grandpa wanted to keep everything in the family or at least some of it I think he should've made different arrangements or included some stipulations perhaps . He may have done so, u never know . Def something worth exploring tho

So to be more clear I was a bit vague... he passed away and was still part owner and when it sold they have been trying to track us down to pay us our portion of the sale... my moms older sister was shady and changed my grandparents wills as they were dying to cut my mom out of everything. So lawyers from the golf club sale want to see all the versions of the will back to the original and to make sure everything was done legally and everyone gets their just due not just the older sister. Looks like the older sister didn't do everything legally at the end of her parents lives and so there's a lot of who gets what to go through

My question wasn't in regards to wanting to own or keep it in the family. The sale is done ✅ and final, just dividing up the sale is the part in question.

Fingers crossed for my Mom. She deserves to have a good final chapter for sure.

I see . So the battle is over the proceeds of the sale.

that makes sense
