Barry is a whole snake. Not him finally giving in to relaunch the label.

Yeah, that's the only reason.

He was lying in that Billboard article claiming the estate was the reason he never put things out for streaming.  He said Diane said she didn't want the music out.  She says that convo never happened.

I believe her.  If he's telling the truth, what kept him from putting out all those other artists' music?   :nowgorl:

Maybe labels weren't jumping at the chance to house Tank and JoJo albums alone, but accepted them with Aaliyah attached, by which time he felt Diane had given the blessing
but Jojo and Tank both are currently on major labels so that wouldn't make sense :dead:

are they big sellers?
That's his point dndndndj
A deal on a major label these days doesn't mean anything
how is that a valid point? obviously the labels went based on the sales of their previous albums to determine whether or not to sign them as artists, and their old albums have their biggest hits especially Jojo
they would probably make more off that than their current music

Can those major labels put their black ground mess on streaming?

No? What I'm saying is maybe whoever Barry was shopping Tank and JoJo albums to weren't buying, and his package needed an extra UMPH which was Aaliyah when the time was right/when Diane was ready

thats not impossible its just not logical money wise. Tank signed with Atlantic records in 09 and has been on there ever since with about 6 albums released now with them, and they didnt wanna buy the albums with Please Dont Go and Maybe I Deserve on them to get the extra money? Or did Barry just not even give them the chance which seems more likely?

They were out of print even before that.  Labels stream mostly anything.  It's not like only big sellers are on Spotify.  Barry is behind this and trying to deflect blame.

So then it was his choice to package them this way?  I don't know how he could blame Diane then.

i got it

4 fucking k

I still don't see why Diane wouldn't be "ready". Why would 2021 be the year to put her music on streaming?! Barry could've worked something out years ago. It just doesn't make sense to me. He probably sold a percentage of her masters to get it on streaming service.

Annie

I'm still a little bit hesitant ordering the vinyls with a 2022 delivery. This better not be the Fyre festival of vinyl releases. I don't trust Barry.
