It's a very empowering term but it's also very harmful because it leads people to believe Black women are these superhuman, bulletproof creatures who can handle anything.

And if you can handle anything, do you really need protection? Help?

It's another way of masculinizing and even dehumanizing Black women. I think we should challenge ourselves to begin finding OTHER words to describe how amazing they are. It doesn't always have to be "strong".

Many of them are speaking up on it .
