that statement has nothing to do with being "superhuman" and theres only an expectation if you acknowledge it... which we DO have the right to NOT. a strong black woman can be soft and sensitive when she wants/needs. period.

Black people having to be "Superhuman" = "Strong Black Women"
She's talking about black people as a whole having to go above and beyond to turn the other cheek and be mentally and emotionally strong and resilient when we're also human beings and are allowed to be soft and vulnerable and that's exactly the same method you can apply to the same "strong black women"
She doesn't have to literally say the term but it's implied and you can apply it

And amerie was addressing the preexisting issue black women are facing

Where they are expected to be bulletproof and to handle anything

If this weren't an issue for black women I honestly wouldn't see the harm of saying "strong black woman" all the time

If they were not CONSTANTLY masculinized and dehumanized I wouldn't see the issue of saying "strong black woman" all the time

It's NOT about "strong black woman" being the CAUSE of the issue , its not about BLAMING "strong black woman" for the issue . it's about us not being able to afford to constantly use a phrase that can CONTRIBUTE to and SUPPORT preexisting ideas about black women that are very harmful.

Does that not make sense?
