The clip jayd posted is definitely relevant to "strong black woman"

there's a direct correlation  of the idea of black women being "superhuman" (I used that word in the OP of the thread and amerie used that word as well) and "strong black woman" simply gives that idea a name/title.

Amerie said the same thing in her clip that I spelled out in the OP, and used the same words. I simply added a phrase which seems to encompass it all.

the correlation is clear. If U don't see it ur choosing not to see it .

Of course she's saying the same thing, just not specifically about women.

!!!!
It's really not that difficult to see the correlation
If you're dismissing what she said and taking it literally because she didn't explicitly say "strong" "black" "women" then maybe the issue is your  comprehension and not Amerie's point

that statement has nothing to do with being "superhuman" and theres only an expectation if you acknowledge it... which we DO have the right to NOT. a strong black woman can be soft and sensitive when she wants/needs. period.

There's so many misconceptions floating around about black people cuz everything is so SKRONG!

like people thinking kinky hair is the toughest SKRONGEST form of hair when its actually the most delicate and fragile of all hair types.

There's empowerment in strength but the issue is that black women are already masculinized enough as it is . First insult someone goes to with blk women usually is "bitch that's why u look like **insert unambiguously black MANs name here** "

I can see why many black women are pushing back on the phrase . If these preexisting issues werent in existence ...of course it'd be awesome to say "strong black woman!" All day and night .

And it's not about intent , because the intent when using that phrase is almost always pure and positive . It's about the idea that it supports and how that affects the women in our community .

which correlates with the OP, wording an' all lol
It's not her/our fault you can't see the correlation or the relevancy, maybe you need to check your comprehension?
because I actually responded to your quote without shade and explained why i thought it was relavent and outlined several examples as to why.

So don't get prissy with the italics because once again you are the last one to hop on board the common sense express
