I remember Brandy's haters back in the day online used to call her B-PAIN because they thought her natural voice  mwas auto tune. No dummy that's actually her voice tell your favs to get like her

Dawn actually was overusing it during the BlackHeart and Red eras when she was an "electronica" artist
so glad shes toned it down now, Bran was never that bad

However I do remember reading a published review of Two Eleven that basically said she was using auto tune too much on the uptempos
but sounds great on the ballads  which I disagree with but just saying Bran has been criticized

I'm sure it bothers a lot of us that people don't understand music, and often times conflate stacked vocals or vocal harmonies with autotune. I've had to tell people a few times that my girl Brandy does not use autotune. But then again most people are out here thinking Jennifer Hudson is a better singer than Brandy. Just had a guy get on my nerves the other day when he said some shit like that. I was like in terms of what? Loudness? The amount of air the comes out her mouth? But truth is Brandy does do too much with the stacks sometimes. Starting Now is an example of that for me. A lot of people would hear that and think she sounds robotic during the verses.

I thought Full Moon ( the album) was disgusting when it first came out because of the effects ..it sounded too robotic for me at first listen I was like wtf is this shit ..now tho?! Ack
