I think I remember that

But He's still kinda pushing this idea that the way you "present" urself has a lot to do with whether ur targeted or not though

It does. He understands the perception they have of Black people in general isn't favorable but it's even LESS favorable for those of us who present ourselves as ghetto and like thugs which makes total sense.
what u said does make sense

But thats not exactly what he communicated in this segment

He kinda excluded and separated himself from the "others" and made it as if being a target or being racially profiled isn't a concern for him, all because of how he "presents"

Now how he feels or what he may have said outside of that segment may be different but viewing this segment I was like ummmm... I get where ur going but no sir

and on top of that, why are we as black people concerning ourselves with OTHER people's perception of us? like, im not saying don't take pride or care in the way you look by any means, but who gives s fuck what "they" think. they gon *always* find an issue

cuz what WE consider as "presenting well" don't mean shit to white ppl. so it doesn't make us less likely for anything. i don't know when we fooled ourselves into thinking it did.
well to be fair presentation or behavior can put a spotlight on someone

Like for instance I'm sure a black person who's just walking around quietly minding their business is a bit less likely to get into trouble or noticed by the wrong folks than a black person who goes outside screaming to the top of their lungs and asking for everyone's attention

but thats true for any race. thats more of a general rule than anything exclusive to black people. when it comes to the perception of black people specifically, i dont think those things are nearly as much of a differentiating factors to the outside world as we have led ourselves to believe.
i think anything involving the argument of  "true for any race " should be thrown out the window when discussing black ppl and The cops

not when were duscussing something thats literally true for any race

when you say "a person walkinh around quietly is going to attract less attention than someone being loud"

that literally true for anybody

so i dont think that at all lends itsself to this backwards ass argument dineva was attempting to make
yes it SHOULD be equal for every race but it's not

youre missing my point

im not saying all races are going to be treated the same in this scenario. what im saying is within each race respectively, the one being loud is going to draw more attention. renember, were speaking on "presentation" and how that is supposed to differentiste us WITHIN our own race, not in comparison to others. my point isthe loud/presentation things is something some black people tell themselves in order to fool themselves into thinking that they will be seem differently by white people in comparison to "less presentable" black. thats just not true, imo.
