I think it was a different time also for Xtina. She worked with David LaChapelle who was inspired by Jamel Shabazz. We are talking about right after the millennium. There are plenty of artists who used or were inspired by black culture but, after 2020, after all the discussion we had about Gwen, people like Rita Ora, Kim K, Iggy Azealia..she and her team should know better.

They could have easily used the rock elements of this song..hired Travis Barker and Dave Navarro and lose the grills, streetwear, wigs and 'hood' references (or maybe nothing will be left lol) It would have been still Bad boys for life without her looking like a Nicki Minaj mini me. That's also the problem with the sample..nothing creative/transformative was done with it. She didn't make it her own at all. And to copy paste the video is another choice. The quality of the vid is good (it looks professional), the nostalgia..there was clearly a budget..but also too many yes people on her team and in the glamsquad.
