nnnn I was under the impression that most India Arie fans are older people, and old people listen to music through their iTunes/YouTube rather than Spotify/Apple Music. Her leaving won't be much of a loss.

She's right tho. The fact that artists get less than 1 cent per stream yet Joe Rogan is paid 100 MILLION dollars for being problematic and racist... that's a disgrace. Especially when you consider most of the highest streamed artists on Spotify right now are Black artists (Drake, Rihanna, Weeknd, Doja, Lil Nas X, etc.)

Gilgamesh.

I must be missing something, how is pulling her music going to impact this anti vaxxer dude? :shannonsmissing:

I guess she just doesn't want anything to do with a streaming platform that financially supports a racist, which is understandable.

Ahh shit Voyage to India>>>>
I'm going this miss her music
but I get it..Spotify doesn't pay the artists enough money.
And if they are connected somehow to the gun industry that's really bad.

Dwayne Johnson just defended Joe Rogan. There are also people who think people who make podcasts should have freedom of speech. India alone would probably make no difference..you need people like Taylor Swift or Drake to make a difference.

If Bey and Ri left it would be obvious they just try to get more people to join Tidal. I don't know if their fans would be happy. It would be a bold move.

It's so crazy Spotify pays this man 100 million and pays the artists the minimum. I don't get it.

India doesn't have a huge audience, but she is still standing in what she thinks is right. These popular artists are the ones that have to start making moves, but when Spotify is the largest streamer, I don't think the big time acts will be doing it any time soon.
