I'm sorry but the way some of these ,,business moguls" operate is so transparent. They want to monetize everything once it gets successful, but asking for a fee after something was free for a while is fucked up.

Honestly they probably thought of the idea of payperview to compensate for the loss of viewership

yes they may have sponsors/product placements but those sponsors are def looking at their viewer numbers closely to make sure they're getting the biggest bang for their buck

if viewership goes down they can no longer charge the sponsors the same amount to place their products in the show . So they may keep the sponsors but they're not keeping the same coin because their overall reach has decreased

It wouldn't be the worst idea to try and limit their dependency on sponsors considering all of this and shift it more towards the consumer .

But they quickly figured out that charging for this mess may fumble their ENTIRE bag . The business side of me says I Honestly can't blame them for trying and testing the waters

but the consumer side of me says nigga please
