A tip should be a bonus for good service. Delivery and good quality of food should be guaranteed. It's time for employers to pay their employees instead of counting on costumers to do it for them. Why would I pay a tip if you are late? Why in a restaurant get a big tip if the waiter is giving me an attitude and  the food is cold? A tip should be a reward. I think they should get minimal wage, there need to be good rules about this in the states to make sure people get paid what they deserve.

These people who work for ubereats DoorDash etc aren't employees though

theyre independent contractors who have no hourly wage , just an agreement via an app of how customer payments will be split

but I mean it's getting to the point where the drivers are getting more strategic with their pickups . I can't blame them cuz they're putting wear and tear on their car, gas money, their time being spent ... don't forget rain, heat, cold weather ...all for someone who's placing a $5 order with no tip included?

gorls... get your trifling asses up and walk to the store to pick up ur own food if ur gonna be doing mess like that . Or better yet, if you really wanna save money do the old fashioned tea of actually cooking ur own food and serving it to urself.

People legit  treat luxuries as a necessity . You shouldn't be spending your last coins on takeout food and food delivery. So It's not even about who has more money to spend.

They're skipping/passing on those 0 tip orders now and leaving them at restaurants to get cold until a driver who ain't up on game yet takes the order . I can't blame them.

I understand that drivers are not employees of these restaurants/delivery companies but I still feel like there needs to be action to hold these companies accountable. Where does the "$4.99 delivery fee" go and how is this legal?

Russian Roulette

I honestly think people continue to do this because they're under the impression that these drivers are required to take whatever order that is assigned to them.

so the attitude is pretty much "just do ur job! 🤷🏾‍♀️ Bring me my food for 0 tip! Lolz don't like it? Tough luck toots! Find another job!"

but I think that if more customers are aware that these drivers can pick their orders and leave yours sitting in the restaurant .... They'll def think about adding that tip so their food isn't ice cold by the time it arrives because 10 drivers hit the "no thnx lolz" button and passed on their  tipless order

very smart of them to try and get this "no tip no trip" thing trending. They need as many drivers on board as possible for it to really work well.

bbbggggvggggggggvhggggg

I mean the delivery company actually provides and maintains the platform used etc . They have operation costs and or course they're in business to make a huge profit

Uber and DoorDash people actually make decent money when people are just slightly generous. I'm sure they're not balling out of control but I've seen some of them say they make a cute lil coin.

It sometimes comes down to the area they're working... many of them are strategic with that too.

in germany i heard from alot of drivers that they ditched uber for other apps because uber keeps the biggest percentage.  That's why alot of Uber drivers here do crazy hours to compensate for the huge part that Uber keeps and they fall asleep and crash the car. They are a shitty company.

But im confused, are we talking about the uber cab drivers or just the uber food delivery? Here uber eats delivery is on bikes so its different from the uber cab drivers.
