That's my point, why does radio have such a huge impact on charts if it's not influenced by the general listener? Record labels make deals to get songs played and they play the same mess.

Once upon a time, radio used to pretty much be the only thing that will get u to chart. Radio play right now for the most part is depicted by the music that is streaming or whats going viral on social media. Muni Long's song only started to take off on radio when the song got popular elsewhere. Do We Have A Problem is just a horrible song and no radio station wants to play it. 

Furthermore, fans can cheat the system and stream songs on multiple devices over and over to get streams. Also, labels do also manipulate what is curated on the popular playlists on streaming services. Everyone is playing the same game.
