André Leon Talley's funeral attended by Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell and more




Celebrities including Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell and Marc Jacobs celebrated the life of André Leon Talley on Friday, April 29, at the late fashion icon's longtime house of worship, The Abyssinian Baptist Church in Harlem.

Talley died on January 18, 2022 at the age of 73. The ever-quotable Vogue editor joined the fashion bible in 1983 as its fashion news director, eventually rising through the ranks to become the magazine's first black creative director and, later, its editor-at-large.

outlets are labeling the mess as a funeral but some are saying it was just a symbolic memorial

but i dunno. it def looks like a funeral to me.

if its a legit funeral it could have something to do with his financial situation
its not like he had kids or anything to immediately step in ...and doesn't seem like he had siblings either , or a lot of family connections
(from what i know, could be wrong)

someone has to step in to handle the arrangements. a dead person can't do anything but lay there

i could see it being a very "up in the air" thing , if he did not prepare with anything in writing
or it could just be a symbolic memorial
