I remember when the song came out, you were so underwhelmed and said "she's not singing  "

ddd what changed? all of a sudden u actually like some of the songs on the album

her VMA performance got me into the song and lyrics

I guess she wants the lyrics to shine more than the vocal but I'd definitely like the album to be more soulful or give what "Paper heart" and "Dear no one" give

Omf or "All in my head"

Hopefully she gets it right the next album. And works with better producers too. But I think a lot of people expected her sound to be different so when they heard the album, they initially disliked it. But if you listen a few times and really get into it, taking it for what it is, it's really a solid effort for a debut artist who wrote all the songs.

yea and it's not easy when ur on a major and they want you to find a balance between ur artistry and being commercial

I wish it didn't matter. I know she can do a bit more musically
