And since when did horror become less than sophisticated material?    It's one of the most successful genres I.e. there never really having to be a huge name to headline.

SMH! I definitely wouldn't call Horror sophisticated. At least, not the simple Friday the 13th/Halloween types. Hitchcockian thrillers maybe.
