This was vague and I guess that was done purposefully

The gorls have said he was gay for a while now so if that's what this is, congrats to him

Quote from: RAY7 on November 22, 2022, 12:09:06 AMI knew it! The way August was talking in code was giving room for himself to backpedal out of this. Depending on the response he's either gonna confirm they're lovers or argue semantics and say he never actually came out and just showed love to his "brother"

I understand wanting to see more of  yourself in media, so we jump on any lil thing that might be gay but...

Nothing about this feels like a comin out

And this kinda speaks to something about our people. Two black men sayin they love each other is immediately sexual?

Barbie Dangerous

Yes, this isn't a coming out announcement at all.

In our defense he absolutely framed it in an ambiguous way.

If that's his "brother" he could have said that. All those generic "coming out-esque" lines about "defies what love is supposed to look like" "social constructs!" "Telling the world!" definitely read like a coming out statement. We're not gonna fault people for leaning towards that when he purposefully delivered the message in such a way

Everything I said about the statement itself is still true. For someone to say "nothing about this sounds like coming out" just isnt true for the reasons I pointed out. I didn't say whether I believed it or not.

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated to be only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.
