I'd say Sometimes in April is my fav
It's not black American history as it focuses on the genocide in Rwanda (Africa) but it's a beautiful movie
A lot of the black American history movies...especially those that focus on slavery... usually just make me very very angry or sad, but they are very necessary .
I'd never say stop making them because those are stories and people we can't forget.
The Jews will have someone's head on a platter if it's even implied that the holocaust didn't happen and you'll never see the Cherokee rolling their eyes at people remembering and focusing on " the trail of tears".
We need to have that same energy for the sad parts of black American history . Especially as talks about reparations have actually picked up steam in certain states like California.
Don't let the gorls forget what we went thru. Allow it to be fresh on their minds
I totally get that The shit is hard for us to watch. Like that "Central Park 5" movie . I will never watch that in my life again. There's just absolutely no entertainment or enjoyment in it . It's triggering , makes me wanna jump thru the screen and beat someone's ass and it makes me sad.
But their story needs to be out there.
