If WYWB would have been the second single I think it would have killed the momentum, great song but too vibey (ironically that sound would set the tone for the Jhene and Tinashe's so it would probably work really well nowadays).

In retrospect I wish TAOL wasn't a single (or least wasn't a lead single) but it made sense cause Kanye was huge atp. Thinking strategically my single choices would have been:

TAOL/Afro double release - Bran was still a big enough to demand that type of roll-out at the time and Afro was really popular in Europe.

Come As You Are - The lyrics are very coming off age and Bran was really pushing the "I'm grown now" message with this album.

WIS2U - but with Usher and a completely different video treatment.

I Tried/WTWB - I Tried as the European single with big budget video.

Focus- radio single to close to our the  era.

"I Tried". That song is unexplainable! It's so dark, dramatic and CINEMATIC. Timbaland knew who that song was for.

I was so hoping that this would've been a single. I used to listen to this song and think up concepts for the video. I had ideas for wardrobe, makeup, settings and placements. I had an entire video treatment down and ready.

I don't wanna hear shit about a worst song on the album when " He Is" fits the bill on " Full Moon" and you all go up for it. But I never judge or attack y'all for what you love because I was raised better than that! Music in general is subjective and I know that! You can't help what attracts your ears.


I never once said "Seditty" or " Turn it up" were the best on the album. But they were needed and I enjoy them. Brandy and Tim made smart moves by including them. We haven't heard Bran talk her ish since Sediddy.

Turn it up wasn't a mixtape leftover. It was purposely sent out to the street djs to drum up excitement for her next release. Half of Monica's "After the Storm" were leftovers they were on a hold album a year before.
