I hope she realizes how this is going to (unfortunately) effect black women/girls who go missing

People won't admit this but the fact that her story was so outrageous is a huge reason it even got so much attention.

Everyone's acting as if these stories pop up every week for black women (even though statistically a significant number of them are missing and exploited each year), saying this will have such a huge impact on these other imaginary weekly/monthly headlines and the effort that would be put into them  , when we really don't see it often - or at all.

If anything it'll be business as usual. This story was edgy and interesting - way more than your typical "Black woman disappeared that's all the info we have at this time " story. If people are willing to admit that's a huge part of what ignited their interest they may have an easier time forgiving Carlee.
Project started: 2014 Wrapped up: 2024

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

No all the girls are on Twitter givin that

"Oh mah gah this is gonna affect all the other nationwide searches for black women!"

Maybe it would affect the effort put into another outrageous story that grabs headlines and trends

but I doubt it ...

cuz anything that's edgy and outrageous enough to grab headlines and trend will put bright lights on whatever police department is in that jurisdiction that should be handling the resolution  .

It's their job to get it done and when the bright lights are on people and somethings WAY out in the open , people tend to feel some pressure and get their jobs done . So honestly there's nothing even to worry about there .

Hopefully Carlee gets the help she needs

We can't be so one-dimensional minded and devoid of empathy to just say "ooh she told a lie! Jail time for ha! Don't wanna hear it!"

There has to be a "why" somewhere

She's not a celebrity looking for press to promote her next movie so these Jussie comparisons are way off the mark as well.

She's a regular degular woman who did something extremely irregular .

The Jussie comparisons aren't off at all. They were both looking for attention and clout, and they got it....in the worst way. I don't think anyone cares what led her to pull such a stunt. Had folks thinking people were out here using toddlers as bait for trafficking.

what evidence do u have that proves she was "looking for clout?"

It seems like a pretty imaginative and ambitious claim to make for someone who was searching "how to steal money from a cash register"

And who returned home within 1 day after it made headlines instead of dragging it out and waiting to be found .

Where did the clout chasing come in exactly? Help me understand this
