Evelyn could walk in a room  say "I'm African American" and people will believe her . No one would bat an eye cuz she is clearly of African descent . At least IMO

But She can also say "I'm latina" and no one will question her - not even relatively ignorant people who think latinas can only look mixed and "exotic" in some way and not unambiguously black

And that's fine .

But you're not gonna play games with African-American women in their own fucking spaces .
