I have the feeling that Brandy isnt really here for her old producers, she wont be here for late tea thats for sure, so in case she meets with Rodney or Tim again and they start giving her late beats or something similar to her past work, she will say "Bye bitches", lol.

Pitchfork: Is "Beggin & Pleadin" off a forthcoming album?

Brandy: It?s part of an upcoming movement. Do they even call the things albums anymore? I don?t know. It?s a movement to me. Honestly, I?m on a mission to just do what I feel I should do. I?m going with my feeling. But the time is now. I?m writing, I have a lot of ideas, I?m in the studio. We?re good.

Pitchfork: It?s a very powerful, self-empowering song. What was it like in the studio the day you recorded it?

B: It was emotional. It was also challenging because I?m not really a soprano. I can fake it sometimes if I have a good lozenge or two, but it was a very challenging vocal. I pulled it from the bottom of my core, and that was an experience for me. It was very emotional but I managed to just push through. If that was the last vocal for me ever, I would be proud and OK with that. That?s what it sounds like to me. I?m thankful for that experience. I?m working and practicing for the live version, 'cause it?s like, 'OK, I?m squeaking!' But I?m so proud of it.

Pitchfork: Would you consider this song a good indicator of what to expect from your music going forward?

B: Absolutely. I want to continue to do music that challenges me. I want to do fearless music. I don?t want to do music for a format, I don?t want to do music for a particular radio sound?I want to do music that I feel inside of myself and not feel afraid to do it. And that?s what I?m doing. That?s what that record represents to me. Do what you feel, and if you feel it, then everybody?s gonna feel it. I don?t think I?ve truly been in this place before musically in a very long time.

wait fckin BRANS!!!

This is BRANDY

She can top anything. Oh, FM! Plea'

The fact that she's in control and giving the middle finger to radio. Biiiiiitch

Bbbbb true. I wonder who she's working with? I'm gonna need her and Rodney to get back in and make some magic. If she's in this space and can bring him to it I can only imagine what they'll create  :stressed:

I like Pop&Oak but I hope they don't do the majority of her album or whatever it turns out to be. Rig how do you feel about it?
she said she wants to work with Rodney so I'm excited! I personally don't think she's locked in with any one producer right now

Last I heard, she was really really feelin hitboy, Stacey (like she said in this interview) and his dope ass artist Preston Harris

OMFF :stressed:

To me Rodney just really gets her voice and how to push her to use it to the fullest. I never got that from 2/11, tbh. Sean knws how to write hits, but I'm not sure he ever understood Ghan's power to create a world from a simple song.

I know hitboy has some INSANE shit...can anyone link me to some of his newer stuff? I remember hearing a newish track he did and it was sick as hell (might've been with Preston tbh).

If she could also find another Maximum Risk-esque producer to cook up some international shit I would get my life. Sweet Nothings is a fuckin jam to this day.

sssssssss yeah I don't want a regression in her sound and I'm sure she doesn't either.

yeah, I mean she loved the experience with Rodney, Tim, she loves them.... but I think at the same time she realizes something should stay on the past.

There is a reason why Rodney and Tim werent on 2/11. Shey may do a few songs here and there with them, but I dont see something bigger.

Im all for some more Tim tracks, thats for sure. But we'll see....

I stopped reading when she said she's preparing for the live performances... I just can't go on.. I'm not gonna make it

Yes Kweens!  :'(

She's in such a good place. I love the statement she in regards to making R&B music.

She's literally executed a wide range of sounds.
