Yes I have identified with a few things as I tried to figure things out but ultimately:
My grandmother is Black / Native Brazilian
My grandfather is Black / Russian Cossack (which in itself is a mixture of a few ethnicities).
I AM a black person with a relatively unusual multi-ethnic background.
Hell, I'm an AMERICAN with an unusual and extremely rare background . There are only about 300 Cossack descendants in the states .
And u know what I've realized ?
That's not my fault. People asking me about my background a million times as I got older (and kinda confusing me) was not my fault .
Me eventually wanting to know my background for myself was fair . Me actually finding out what I found made SENSE.
But I am still Black first. Not "mixed with Black".
I feel a need to make that clear.
