I thought her deal was a partnership deal where she records at her own leisure, own her masters in the process, and Motown acts as her distribution but it's all under her imprint Brand Nu Inc.

Or does she have the traditional record deal?

Motown is just her distributor like eOne was.  She likely signed a 1 album distribution deal with Motown because it was only a 1 album distribution deal with eOne or maybe she renegotiated it to be a 1 album distribution deal after deciding she wanted to work with Ethiopia/Motown as her distributor.

Bran Nu is listed on the back of her Christmas album so she's still an indie artist.

The Motown CEO Ethiopia left the music group last December.
Ethiopia per the announcement article was the reason Brandy wanted to partner with Motown.
Motown then got merged with Capitol.
She came to Ethiopia for a parternship.
Ethiopia leaving Motown/Universal Music Group was unexpected, so Ryan and Brandy likely decided to fulfill the contract via the Christmas album.
Since the reason for her being there is gone.

RedOctober

No surprise regarding B8. I hope that she feels inspired to begin recording B8 during the spring or summer of next year. I really want her to hone in on this grown, sexy and simple style.

In the meantime, rent an Airbnb and record a simple video serving looks to one of these Christmas songs. Hopefully that's in the works.

NEW MOON

She was recording songs back in summer of last year and october of last year. What happened to those?

It wasn't for the Christmas album.

Brandy's lying.

That answer is giving calculated. She only wants us to focus on her Xmas mess rn.

She was singing a whole different tune literally a year ago:

Apparently the features on B8 was the shocking part that would gag us.

I mean...it's possible she could've scrapped it

At the time she signed it she probably wasn't even thinking about a Christmas album. The deal was announced back in 2022.

That make sense for real and smart AF. That's why she not speaking much on B8 but I'm sure she got shit lined up for sure if that's the case. I hate all that went down after she sighed tho. I hope she wasn't too down about it

It sounds like she's filming more film projects. I'm hopeful this Christmas project gets it's proper love and attention. Brandy is too GOAT'd.

Its bizarre that similar scenarios happened with each of Afrodisiac, Human and Two Eleven.

With afro management changed, Human, the original president who signed her left halfway through the album campaign, and Chameleon left RCA to sign with Epic.

I'm glad Brandy made the most out of the circumstance with this Christmas album.
