After 2/11 I learned my lesson, I think some of you need to realise the "comeback" is not happening, the big era is not happening, crazy visuals are not happening. Brandy needs to want to do these things and actively connect with people that will facilitate it, hell Silent could do a lot do that stuff himself and the fact he doesn't (and Brandy consider him a friend) tells me it's a choice and not management/label - at least not every time.

the bolded is what i think that's at the root of whats frustrating the gorls. so u hit the nail on the head there....

but id take it a step further and say to you that even if GHan wanted these things to happen,the likelihood of a major, mind-blowing "comeback" is slim.

and id take it one more step further and say Silent is not a magician. the way you just said "he could do a lot of this stuff!" is IMO, highly unrealistic and almost unfair to both him and GHan.

it's saying she has all these amazing ironclad resources at her doorstep (aka, a "machine") and is just refusing to use them. it's not that simple. it's rarely ever that simple in the music industry, especially in regards to an artist who experienced the height of their career in the 90s.

we're doing a lot of assuming here. so although you offered a solution in saying "guys let it go like i did", you kinda poured more gas on the fire  . an uno reverse, if u will.

the more realistic the gorls are, the more in-tune they are with the statistics and the history of incline-peak-decline in this industry, the less they will blame GHan for what they consider a lack of success or exposure.

Well in that instance idk. I think Silent could definitely give Brandy more consistency with her brand, if she wanted that.

I think he was attempting to do that when Brandy was going to relaunch as "The Next Brandy" and was vlogging and doing motivational interviews on her YouTube But that was short lived.

To be clear, I meant that if Brandy asked Silent to help her be more visible/social media active he could do it. Now that wouldn't mean we'd get Never Say Never 2.0 but it would be a significant step-up from what she's been serving the past decade lol.

And we know he's had these conversations with Brandy because he's alluded to it several times on this very board. For example, we've all said Brandy should do the Terrell Show, Silent confirmed recently she doesn't want to do it. That's a choice, not a resources issue.

And I'm not even dragging Brandy because it's been this way for so long it's what I expect.

In her Christmas album thread I said a few stripped down acoustic versions of the songs performed at home would be cute, hire a guitarist and an MUA for the day - have Syrai record it on her phone, like these are simple things.

After 2/11, my behaviors as a stan shifted for many reasons. I accepted that if the comeback didn't happen with THIS album, it wasn't happening. But more importantly, I accepted that Brandy wasn't going to change and recognized that it's much deeper than a "label/management" issue. Yes, she needs to want to actively connect with the right people to get shit done. But more importantly, she needs to want to actively connect with her fucking "FANS." A damn near decade long gap is absolutely ridiculous. If she's not invested in her own music career, how the hell can we be?

i think that's an opportunity for you to question whether you may be a bit too "on ready" to critique her.

a whole new narrative of "now she's burning bridges with the big networks! omfg...shes toast!" was about to unfold until i made a point of asking for receipts and we learned that it was a post from a fan page, not a multi-billion dollar company saying someone rescheduled something on their own network without them knowing about it.

not saying intentions are bad, im just saying slow down a bit and give her the benefit of the doubt a bit more often. im sure it'll make you feel a bit better.

Being fair isn't a problem. What's unfortunate is we go 4 years between albums with little promotion. She is inconsistent. We haven't had a real tour since Bill Clinton was in office. She drops albums then disappears. Her work ethic lacks. Her talent abounds. But we can't want more from her than she wants to supply. There is no real communication team. She could be out singing at every major city tree lighting. She could go live decorating her tree while playing her new album, she could do radio interviews from her home. Maybe she is much more of a recluse than we know at the moment.


But it's okay for the fans who stay locked to be disappointed. Our fave dropped a Christmas album that a huge majority of her fan base don't even know about! And that's including the fans that fell off a while back

honestly if someone's an actual fan of GHan I'm sure they're following her on Instagram or Twitter or Facebook

This isn't 1998 where everyone's reliant on the media to get them news on people they wanna get news and updates from .

To say most of GHans fans aren't aware of this album is a pretty ambitious statement to make, considering all of this 

The people who care and are checking for her most likely know about the album.

her social media acts as her "bat signal" for the core fans in 2023.

Next year is going to be interesting because as the years go once hardcore fans are now becoming casuals. So it will be interesting to see how she plans to convince the general public, casuals and hardcore fans to purchase movie tickets while only being seen for group press and no communications team.

Everybody doesn't use social media. And Brandy doesn't post that often where you can guarantee a casual fan would be aware of her 1 or 2 posts about new music.

People learn about music in many ways today. Brandy should be taking advantage of every outlet to maximize her reach.
