I think when artists are in those "promotion" tour, they say things like that because you can't say you hate your album. How can people buy your music if you say you don't like it ?

Of course they can't. My point if she didn't truly believe in the project why didn't she speak up when she was in the process of creating it. She herself said she didn't listen to her gut when making it and allowed everyone else's opinions to interfere.

People won't buy your music if you don't believe in it. And that was very transparent even when she saying it was her best.

That part, because why even record something you aren't necessarily feeling, let alone submit it to the label? It was some personal shade with Rodney, I feel, and hopefully she will fully divulge it when she writes her book.

I think you're forgetting Brandy was coming out of a major depression and Human was her first project after the accident. The label and her team wanted to go Pop because it would make her endearing to the public, songs like Departed and the title track were basically an "apology" of sorts.
