Now why is no one rooting for AD and Clay?

Imo, he seems only attracted to her sexually... he just doesn't want to hurt her feelings and look like the bad guy.

When they first saw each other, it was so cringey to me. He looked disappointed I just don't think he's that attracted to her, beyond her body but  still thinks she's a good girl. The "humor", "goofball" thing he does with her seems like his way of just playing it off (not being that into her). I feel like he feels that AD is that type of woman he should be with... but he's just not that into her and can't imagine a longterm future with her.
