I had some amazing teachers, but, none were ever my friends. Do your job. Teach. Set a healthy example for the kids, be an adult, set boundaries. Disciplined. If he's truly pure, then he just learned a valuable life lesson and he should be honored that the school board made an example out of him and he should take some meaning from that. Everyone involved got some valuable life experience out of the situation. And he helped spark dialogue and discourse in society. Sometimes we need people to cross the line a bit so we can reestablish or define where the line actually is. Because things change over time. Good luck to him, though

I'm surprised he got fired because according to his comments in the Shaderoom he said the parents signed waivers for him to make this content. It must've been outside ppl calling the school

well as a teacher he not only has to worry about parents of kids at the school who are involved in the video

but also parents of kids who are not in the videos and may be alarmed at what they see once it reaches their device

Well this took a turn

Someone on Twitter found a video of him flirting with a 16 year old student

But he then deleted it.

It's borderline but everything doesn't need to be recorded either. I had a teacher like him except mines was white and I was in the 5th grade. Some of the things the teacher mentioned in his video, my teacher would do as well like if we did really good our assignments and tasks he would reward us extra recess time so while other classes were going back into the building we was still outside playing for an extra 5 or 10 minutes. He would also talk to us and encourage us. He would never talk down at us. I know I had my days when I tested his patience. At the time, this was 1998 (whew) he was 25 and we were 10 and 11 year olds so we thought he was cool. We thought we could relate to him because unlike some of the other teachers he was younger than most. Plus, the way he described life for him at 25 in 1998 us as students couldn't wait til we got 25 or was adults. He made it sound exciting. I see nothing wrong with teachers developing a well rounded relationship with their students long as their boundaries and doesn't go beyond anything else.

I totally understand a teacher doing the "im not a regular teacher... I'm a COOL teacher 😎" thing

But this is too far. It's like he genuinely feels he's one of them on some level. And that would be disturbing to me as a parent

It's not "wrong" but I agree, it's inappropriate. Just the image of a child playing in a grown man's hair (that isn't her brother or Dad) is jarring. And as a teacher he should know better.

i kinda feel bad for him cuz it seems innocent... he doesn't give me predator vibes.

but sometimes optics just override everything. especially when ur dealing with minors

its not enough for things to "seem" innocent once boundaries are crossed.

anyone whos jumping to conclusions kinda has a leg to stand on when it comes to the history of child exploitation and how predators can operate.

yes everything was on camera as he said, but sometimes predators hide in plain sight.
