Quote from: Gilgamesh. on June 04, 2024, 02:25:52 PMJazz sounds like Will Smith.

No.

Lucas is Will Smith. Kareem is Duane Martin

QuoteLucas, "a megastar. No matter what film project he was attached to it was bound to be a box office smash," and Kareem, "a leading sitcom actor, is married to an actress." The film crew took bets on "how often Lucas's ''boyfriend'' Kareem would show up and how long he would stay. It was like clockwork; Kareem arrived each day at the same time and went straight to the trailer for hours on end. Our circle was talking about the down low circle Lucas and Kareem were in. But it was a hard nut to crack; they were superstars."

Quote"Drake"
He was a member of one of the most popular R&B groups. They had several number one Billboard hits, and the young girls loved him because the adorable, sexy front singer, Drake had a flamboyant stage presence. He was very eccentric in his style, defying more conventional looks in his appearance. Drake didn't hold back when he performed either...showing his muscular frame. [He] branched out on his own as a solo artist and had a huge hit single which led to a few acing roles in major motion pictures.

Sounds like Sisqo

QuoteThere was one R&B duo who had a smash single over the airwaves. Both the male and female were sexy and attractive. They were discovered and produced by one of Hip-Hop's premier East Coast producers. Their groovy style made them a viable entity in the industry. The record label was behind them and helped to get them into every media outlet possible.

Then rumors started circulating in the industry that the male singer, "Zach" was gay. All of us in the down low clique were well aware he was part of our family.

My friend, who was a publicist at the record label, and the executives decided to me the R & B team an intimate couple, They would spin the story to the press that the duo was having a torrid love affair. They were lovers and the chemistry we saw in their videos was that of love.

It worked. The media loved it. The fans ate it up.

The record label had a retreat in the Caribbean. They brought their staff as well as the R&B duo. Then a disaster happened. A male employee was caught in the room with "Zach". This was not good. The media would soon discover what happened. The phones begin to ring throughout the down low brothers in the industry. We all were calling one another. We watched to see what would happen.

The employee was immediately sent home and then fired. The label executives met with Zach, and they created an elaborate plan. The story became the male employee trying to seduce the singer. Zach was trying to get him out of his room as the employee made several advances. But it was too late. The record label knew Zach was a homosexual. Instead of putting more money into publicity for a cover-up, they dropped the duo and their careers were over.

"Zach" was actually revealed to be the male
singer from Koffee Brown

Omg that would explain why they never released a second album, despite being kinda popular at the time.

I mean he's good. He did co-write Bootylicious. He's still eating off that I suppose.

QuoteA few times, I spotted "Asia," a 1990s female R&B singer who had an amazing voice and a number of widely successful ballads during that time. She started as a background singer, but her powerful voice proved she needed to be up front as a solo artist. Her short body was topped with her huge, curly hair. Asia made a number of love songs, and her claim to fame was her rendition of a sexy remake of a song originally done by an '80s icon.

QuoteThere was a beautiful television sitcom actress, 'Daisy,' and her actress best friend, 'Lisa.' These two women have been friends for a number of years and are always together. Daisy had done a number of successful sitcoms and got her start in a Broadway musical. Her multirange vocals were often showcased on one of the sitcoms she co-starred on. She often plays a fiery and fiesty character...However, I suspected that Lisa, a former singer and popular comedic actress, was at the club only as support for her.

Not KING Latifah being abusive :plzstop:

Quote"'I don't give a fuck!' a curvaceous woman yelled. 'She better bring her ass over here!' Everyone turned around to see who was making such a fuss. It was award-winning female rapper/ actress, 'Sheena.'...This wouldn't be the first or last time I'd see or hear about this female rapper/ actress attacking her partners...When she made an appearance on Keenen [Ivory Wayans'] show, I couldn't imagine her being as violent as I had seen her that night because she was the nicest and sweetest person. She had a striking presence, but it was really her walk that made her appear as if she was pimping."

QuoteLola was an R&B singer/ songwriter who had recently moved to Los Angeles from New York. She was a staple on the New York scene, partying with big name celebrities. Her skills caught the likes of super duper producers DeVante Swing of Jodeci, Stevie J, and Dallas Austin. She'd made a noteworthy album, and the critics were eating her up. Her style was a hard-edged rap with a little rock and R&B. Her new single topped the charts and was receiving a lot of airplay... As much as Lola wanted to be a trailblazer and open doors for other gay artists, she was still part of a machine. Lola had to do what the label told her to do. She was still at their mercy and on their dollar. In videos and on album covers, her look was softened with dramatic makeup, luxurious hair, and seductive clothing. It was like night and day seeing her transformation.
