I really hope if this movie does well that Ghan continues working with a24. I want to see her in more roles that stretches her acting chops.

I think this will do the usual A24 opening week numbers of around $4-$6 million.

They'll likely put it in around 2500 theaters. If Brandy was devoted to the movie by doing aggressive and diverse promo it would have easily passed Hereditary and Talk to Me opening week domestic numbers.

Which would have allowed her team to do a victory lap in the press on Sept 9 about how she proved herself at the box office as a lead. She would have been flooded with good role offers for the rest of the year.

I feel like most A24 projects are like this though. They just drop a trailer, maybe some eerie teasers, release the mess, and then the critical acclaim carries the flick from there. I've never seen promo runs for an A24 mess....

God is so good! She seems so grounded in this role. Definitely her best and more to come. Keep doing you, Brandy. Keep your head bowed, protect your peace and let the work speak for itself because who else among her peers/colleagues are headlining A24 films? Let's be for real!
