Why did I think about that pic of her with the dog that Afro used to post all the time when I heard the news

 :stressed:

So sad that she's no longer with us. R.I.P.

RAY7

I didn't know her and Bran were actually close friends at one time
I wonder if she'll come out of hiding and say something

This is so sad, RIP Queen :'(

I instantly thought of Afro when I saw the news

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated to be only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

I didn't realize how much this would break me. Confidence is obviously important at any age but especially when you're so young: simple things you don't realize at the time really do mold you into the person you are. Looking back, there was so much that I learned from Ananda and implemented on a daily basis as a child. The way she wore her clothes, the way she spoke, the way she navigated through conversations, the way stood, the way she held herself; even as an adult with the way she decided to handle her diagnosis. So grateful for the icon that she is - the legendary Ananda Lewis. ❤️

Kalifornia.

So sad to hear this. Watching her on TRL was a big part of my after-school routine growing up.

Queen is imbedded in late 90s/early 2000s pop culture.

RIP
