i'm honestly not a huge believer of drastic, irreversible actions being taken before someone's frontal lobe has been completely formed

just aside from opinion....scientifically, if that hasn't been formed yet (especially if it's YEARS away from being formed). someone is literally at a loss when it comes to their ability to not only make decisions but really understand the potential consequences and finality of it all.

and before anyone says im tryna be edgy or Nicki-aligned. NOPE.

I think the point is that there's not a lot of parents that are letting their children get surgery
Trans ppl feel that they are already trans with or without the surgery so this whole bill is just to spread anti trans messaging to the public

kinda left field from this topic but kinda related at the same time

i was just revisiting this documentary earlier this week (DC Snipers)

im sure most people would say this 16 year old was old enough to "know right from wrong"

but to me that's always an easy way to over-simplify things.

instead of calling it what it was. this boy was "adopted" by this adult with his own personal agendas, and manipulated into being a tool for his revenge against society.

with the absence of a fully developed frontal lobe, Malvo was more susceptible to this manipulation without REALLY thinking things through, or at least stopping at some point to think more critically about the adult leading him. having the ability to SEE THROUGH some of the bullshit he was being fed.

the court acknowledging this was enough to spare him from the death penalty that the adult got, but i don't think he should be in jail for life.

I'm not a fan of kids being surged and 'moned either, but that's between them and their parents.

Also, I find it funny that the actual numbers are never brought up. Which leads me to believe this is a non/minuscule issue being blown up in order to demonize a certain group, while distracting from the current administration's lack of getting real shit done.
