America is literally hell.

There is no such thing as a conservatorship in the UK or any other nation for good reason because it can easily lead to exploitation like this.

Usually it's the family who make decisions for dementia patients and safeguards are put in place to protect the patient and their assets.

How some random person who has no relationship with the patient can be brought in to manage their life and be able to cut them off from their family and friends makes no sense to me.

Wendy is going to require a lot of care for the rest of her life. Medical care costs serious money . She has a serious condition.

It's very dangerous for Wendy for someone to be spending up all of her money with no one to stop them from doing so.

People are way too stuck in this "but it's family!" situation. Clearly haven't heard of instances where people's own families have fucked them over. It happens guys!
