I def don't think it's a coincidence that she finally got it after the gorls (especially Jay) started flat out calling them out on their shit

But she's earned it. She deserves highest honors cuz she's a top tier artist. Period . It's like peanut butter and jelly.

Jay's speech from last year is very misconstrued.
He won an award first of all so that's why he was able to give that speech. Also he spoke about Will Smith and DMX and how he boycotted the Grammys in solidarity with them multiple times even when HE himself won.
The LAST part of his speech he said what has been said multiple times that there was no reason to give an artist 32 awards but not THE biggest award. He was not begging, or asking for anything. Kanye west ran up on the damn stage when Beck won over her, Adele BROKE her award in half to give it to her. These ppl all know Bey should have BEEN won one it has nothing to do with Jay's speech.
If all he had to do was beg for it they wouldn't have let her lose 4 whole times before she finally got it
