We still doing this?

I think it was very clear what Obama's beliefs and platform were about. But as the first and ONLY black president, I think we knew that progress would be incremental. A lot of things that were for "everybody" disproportionately helped black folks, but these militant ass girls don't see that. Also congress was against him most of the time. The president doesn't pass laws and executive orders don't hold up.

All that being said, the country was whipped into such a frenzy that Obama was some ultra liberal black panther that we got trump twice and we are still in conservative hell in this country.
Ketanji Jackson has come this far by faith.

Ketanji Brown will still beatcho ass.

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated to be only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

Trump is kinda exposing the game. He's been passing one executive order after the next to get what he wants done.

Democrats could do the same. If a Democrat President wanted to pass executive orders to help/benefit people they could, but they chose not to.

While I know that executive orders aren't laws, they can still make a difference while they're active. Then when the next party is in power and tries to kill that popular order, let them take the heat for it.

While I like and appreciate Obama, he was part of the problem as well.

You think Obama would've been able to sign executive orders like Trump?

Justice Jackson

I mean, Obama was not perfect by any means

And he did use some executive orders, as they all do

But it certainly wouldn't have been realistic, in either term, to sign an executive order specifically for black people. Whether reparations or anything else. These people hated him for the affordable care act and that was actually enacted by congress. I can't get with the girls that come out during every election season to say unless you give us reparations or stimulus checks, we're not voting for democrats. It's pure ignorance.

But yeah, moving forward i do think democrats should do more to set the scene with executive orders. The country is a lot more divided and hyper partisan now than during Obama's terms and it should be expected that what's cool for one side should be done by the other. Enough with respectability and "precedent". But I will say that tea party/republicans/maga single handedly created this hostile environment focused on culture wars and social issues. Meanwhile they are still robbing you and creating the economic conditions that keep you at each other's throats

Yes. Any president can do it. Hence, the executive branch of government.

I'm not really pointing the finger at Obama as much as the Democrat party as a whole. He's just part of a larger problem of politicians catering to their rich donors over the people who actually voted them in.

I know he CAN but it's just not realistic. Him going against an established institution as a black man would not have gone over at all. They would've impeached and removed his ass.

That's why I said I'm mainly referring to the Democrat party as a whole. Obama is only part of a larger issue that's been going on long before he took office.

Money needs to be removed from politics.
