I'd say that the features thing shows that Nicki is a great rapper but possibly not a fully developed ARTIST.
She can come up with a great verse easily but forming a great song with hooks is lacking. Still she's smart enough to capitalize on her strengths to boost her career regardless.
That "50k for a verse no album out!" Was a BAR because clearly there was high demand for her due to her talent.
Also it makes sense because she was signed under Lil Wayne who has 100s of features. Drake too.
