honestly i don't think there will ever be another Rihanna but i can see why they're tryna recreate her tea

Rihanna is just someone who is the epitome of "it factor", and the more you know and learn about her - especially her as a person....her personality, spirit, wit (arguably the most iconic clapbacks known to man), etc.

she actually becomes MORE interesting. which IMO is rare.

you understand why she connects with people. just something within her radiates out , in addition to her being pretty

there are certain things you cannot duplicate. we're gonna get more pretty island/foreign girls but we're not gonna get another Rihanna.

Significant Discovery: First known Black American family of Kalmyk descent

Takeaways: Be prepared to pivot, even when you think you're on the right track. Be OK with being wrong so you can get things right.

Kalmyks are tribal Mongolic people who settled in Russia. It's estimated that only 300,000 Kalmyk descendants exist worldwide - with only 3,000 in America.

but i like tyla, shes prevvy and push 2 start is my mess

and i love that shes giving a different angle to this "foreign gorl takin on the states" thing in a lot of ways

Tyla might surprise us and kinda depart from this extra emphasis on her foreign-ness in the music/beats ...and kill it
that's what Rihanna did ("music of the sun" vs. her later works) and we see how that worked for her

def remember people thinking Rihanna was a foreign gorl who'd be a one hit wonder.

Tyla is truly EVERYTHING. The only new gorl that's worth a damn.

Now with that being said... I'm gonna need for Princess to put down the drums and banjos and go full POP. I want a Rihanna "Loud" type of album/era from her.

I would love for Tyla to do a song like Rihanna's "Only Girl In The World" or Ariana's "Into You". A great pop single is gonna take her to the next level.

The only thing Tyla has done wrong so far in her career was that interview on The Breakfest Club.

When Charlamagne asked her about her injury and she said "Ehhh why you wanna know?"  :plzstop: and then when he asked her about the Colored comment and her publicist stepped in and said "we're not answering that"

  :-/

I know a lot of Black American women were pissed that she ignored the topic. Many Black women in the US stopped supporting her after that interview. I understand why, because race is such a sensitive topic to discuss... but she should've said something rather than nothing at all. She just had to keep it short and simple... "I know the term Colored has a negative historical connotation here in America, but the word doesn't have a negative connotation in South Africa and that's the word we use to describe mixed race people"

i agree they coulda prepped her for it but i also see why they just wanted to skip it. a conversation like that can easily pull someone down into a rabbit hole

.....even if u answer it properly. especially on a show like TBC. charlamagne wants MESS and if u dont give it to him, he'll create it. hbsfbhfhsbsfhbfhbsfhsfs

and tyla is both young AND foreign to America so i can see why she's nervous to tip toe across that type of minefield

plus "Colored" meaning "someone of multi-ethnic/multi-racial ancestry" just opens ANOTHER can of worms , even if you properly explain it.

"BITCH u just Black! :uhh: "

or the flip side of that which people have said:
"BITCH why u tryna appeal to Black folks if u not even a real Black person! :uhh: dirty Indian bitch! "

it's one of those conversations that she will not win if she steps into the ring, no matter how she throws her punch.

ive seen people say some really nasty things about her and its honestly shocking cuz although she doesn't come off super bubbly, she's not out here tryna cause trouble either.
