and honestly consuela choosing a lesser known sample/song than Barbie Dreams and still not hitting the mark is just another mark against her

expectations are typically higher when you choose to remake songs that many people already know

because they're gonna be checking to see if you're overly RELYING on the sample to CARRY your songs.

when i first heard Playerz i was giving Consuela props in here because i legit thought it was an original song and was SHOCKED at the bars she was spitting. like "OK gor....i can't even hate. this is solid af"

my expectations were low and she exceeded them. but had i known about the Playerz song already, my expectations woulda been much higher for her to deliver. and considering that it appears she basically COPIED and PASTED Jay's bars ....my first opinion woulda been much different.

at least now i know im actually open and objective enough to give Consuela her props when I think they're due.
