Well Diddy always said that he molded the group around Aubrey. So she is technically the blueprint
and all the other girls were put in place following her.

klappa.

when diddy said that, i think he was just referring to molding the group around who he wanted to smash most. but when you study the actual blueprint and formula... it really just comes up dawn x dawn² + aundrea (-15 lbs)

well we can creatively interpret what he meant all day

but Diddy literally said and did things that positioned Aubrey at the forefront of the group

even though many would argue she's probably the least talented (which is where i think a lot of the "  :uhh: " responses are coming from when it comes to her saying she was the star.)

personally i don't feel she was "the star" but thats just how i feel. she wasn't my personal favorite and i think other ladies in the group brought a lot more artistically. Dawn would be my personal "star" of the group.

but ultimately she's far from delusional for labeling herself as "the star" of Danity Kane - especially in conversations regarding Diddy and how he set things up and handled DK.

the group was literally and strategically marketed that way.

Quote from: FUCK Bey on December 11, 2025, 05:04:23 AMShe kinda is, though. I see Dawn and Aubrey as equally the stars of the group. There's no DK without Dawn, and there's no DK without Aubrey.

Dawn is the voice, Aubrey is the face.
They are BOTH the centers of the group...the problem is Aubrey always wants to be THE CENTER and that's not how it works, especially when the bisshh next to you can dress, dance, sing and write music better than you. Aubrey is influential to the look of the group but her solo shit never gets any attention cause ain't nobody checking for her and them photoshopped instagram pics.

Exactly. Im not even gonna go in on her because the story is sad and the possible allegations in the doc are vile, but she had no problem shading Dawn in the doc and doing a recent interview discounting Dawn's experience w/ Diddy and sexual assault so girl bye. They are all talented but it's basic vanilla talent outside of Dawn and Drea so the group wasn't molded around her b/c she was this exceptional talent...there was a reason

Diddy wanted a POP group and as a strategic business man he surrounded her with more talented minorities and put her at the forefront because she is white and fame hungry for attention (Shannon doesn't have the personality for it)...whiteness sells and that's the end and beginning of it.

Dawn is more the voice of the group, along with Aundrea.

Aubrey is clearly the most seen "face of" the group, whether we like it or not.

Aubrey was always the head huncho from jump. Dawn definitely worked her way up
to own a position, though. But she was never "that girl" straight out the gate like Aubrey was for the group.

Hell, even Andrea was neck and neck with Aubrey in the beginning.

I feel like Diddy created a group with "replicas" of some of the biggest women in music at the time. Like what if Britney, Xtina, Brandy, Mary and Madonna were in a group together?
He found his Britney (Aubrey) and Xtina (Aundrea) in the first season then he went back on the second season and found his Brandy (Dawn) Mary (Wanita) and Madonna (Shannon)

Aubrey was the first person chosen for the group, first one doing solo magazine covers and interviews, she went on Broadway and did Hairspray. She definitely was pushed to the forefront, as the "star" for mainstream media
She even was on the Apprentice and used to mess with Trump Jr

Aubrey and Aundrea are a little equal to me b/c of their journey from that initial season... now that 2nd season ate b/c the new pool of girls were a better batch and that's why Dawn is so pivotal b/c she was like that breakthrough/shiner girl that they needed... Wanita and Shannon always felt replaceable to me...
