This industry is vicious. All the records she sold pre-streaming, pre-digital. Her catalog should be easily set at least 400-500 million.

She has one of the biggest songs of all time with HMBOMT. I thought her entire disc' would be worth a cool billon at least
no way her catalog would be worth a billion

Kalifornia.

It does seem like a low-ball offer, but hell I can see her taking it to keep Kevin and her family from trying to cash in later if something happens to her.

i wouldn't be surprised if Britney is just about completely done with being "Britney Spears"

the brand/story holds so many unpleasant memories for her.
Coming soon: 2nd half of Fanci Beast's debut.

I think that's the point. I don't think she gives a fuck. At all. Selling this is less about the money and more about her being DONE with her music career.

FUCK Bey

She definitely could've fought for much more, but I don't think she cared to.

thats def what its giving

especially considering her image and everything else was thrown into the deal

they did the homework came back with an offer and she was like OK

im sure her lawyers made sure she wasn't completely made a fool of though.

its not like she sold everything for a combo meal from the rib shack.
nearly a quarter of a billion is significant

Am I the only one who thinks 200M sounds about right?

For a catalog that isn't timeless and a run that was only about 10 years, HMBOMT - Blackout. She made out.

I just hope she is able to comfortably enjoy the rest of her life in PEACE.

i was thinking that too

it doesn't sound outrageously low or outrageously high.

especially considering bubblegum pop music doesn't age the best as it is super super trendy

I got more info on it. She's only selling her copyright publishing. Meaning songs she wrote or co-wrote. It ain't that many though.

 :dead:
i wouldn't say "timeless"

to me "timeless" suggests that it's not really dated...
a lot of britney's catalog is very "what sound was hot at the time"

which is expected of pop music. it's trendy.

but i would say she has "classics".
Coming soon: 2nd half of Fanci Beast's debut.

This would have never happened if she was still in the conservatorship
It's great that she got this lump sum of money but now another company is going to profit and control her work. That's always been the case though so I get it, but I would think the music she created would mean something to her, more than money

FUCK Bey

If something becomes a "classic," it has endured beyond its release context. Classics are literally timeless by definition. Yes, Britney is known for 2000s bubblegum pop, but she was literally the trailblazer of that sound.  :dead:

Brit CREATED the pop music trends, not followed them.

FUCK Bey

And to say she only lasted 10 years when she was literally having back to back #1 hit debuts in the 2010s too is crazy.
