Ebony looks fucking amazing

no wonder she had such a bright beam of confidence on the show

her Grandmother POURED into her. Ebony says she had customers coming into her beauty shop and always told them, "Tell my grandbaby she's Black and beautiful."

makes so much sense. and it's such a beautiful story. this goddess!

paused but still watching...i knew something was so different about Ms Jay

i was thinking maybe hes just tired but wow. push thru Kwing

and i'm so disappointed in the way Tyra handled things with Ebony and her "ashy" skin
and "angry" and "aggressive" attitude.

and Tyra tryna play victim when it came to Dani's story about closing her gap is BS
she's def swerving around accountability in this doc

it is disappointing but we are lookin at it thru a 2026 lens. i think she deserves to be forgiven.

some of this stuff Tyra shoulda known better though

if Ebony was younger than her and clocking it in real time 20 years ago , as someone in the industry with her history she prob shoulda been clocking it too

and her apologies for approx 90% of the most important things seem to be followed up with a self-victimizing statement

"im sorry for X but i was doing the best i could " (speaks to a "struggle")
"im sorry for X but i was between a rock and a hard place" (speaks to a "struggle")

i love Tyra but i cant ignore how her overlooking things has affected a lot of the young Black ladies she encountered as they share their stories in this documentary

especially Dani, Tiffany and Ebony

we can't brush absolutely everything under the rug with a "oh that was back then" excuse

still love Tyra but i'd like to see her learn how to fully take accountability for things without low key turning it around into a sob story about herself.

i mean she was doing the best she could tho? if thats how she felt why cant she say that??

also this isnt to you but one thing i dont like about the doc is that they are making it seem like tyra is just some wicked witch who was trying to tear down these girls and push them to the limits.

this isnt the first reality show and it wont be the last. not everyone gets to win. they are making it seem like these girls were all promised a million dollar modeling contract and thats not the case. even the winners, sometimes things dont work out.

klappa.

i'll say this. tyra is an agent of the devil, yes. but when it comes to antm, some stuff may have been problematic, but it genuinely was preparing then for the real fashion industry which is... problematic. so she kinda delivered on her promise.

but to her credit, Tyra did admit they could have done a way better job of letting the gorls know that "not everyone is gonna be a star" even the gorls who win.

one could argue that "hey thats life why does that need to be explained"

but this was a show selling a "life changing opportunity" to young ladies who weren't WISE enough yet to really understand that just because you make it on TV and even win something "big" on TV...there's no guarantee of sustained success and opportunity.

even viewers who didn't have the experience firsthand were left confused when winners didn't "win" in life after ANTM. because we were kinda sold the same idea as viewers. that's what made us tune in and root for our favs.

hell, the show title in itself is seemingly a promise of success. "America's Next Top Model"

so you can only imagine what it's like to actually live through that.

more than one thing can be true at the same time

i 100% believe people are dramatic when it comes to nitpicking on Tyra

and i think a lot of it comes from her being a Black woman in a position of power and this apparent need to put her in her place

but at the same time there are things Tyra should def take accountability for

"i did the best i could" is a phrase that is often used as a vague cop out when someone is "apologizing". it's a phrase i would 100% refrain from using when apologizing to someone or taking accountability for something.

if you MUST find a way to redirect it to yourself (when in that moment, it should really only be about the person/people you're apologizing to).... find a way to rephrase with something meaningful instead of a cliche cop out. it just doesn't come off well

Dani is clocking the BS filler language and I'm with her.

i mean thats your opinion for sure, if i feel like i really did try, I am going to say that. i can phrase it a million different ways but it still means the same. She did the best she could at that time.

Her being black is apart of it for sure.

I think her even doing the doc is proof she knows she did somethings wrong and she is the face so she is going to get most the blame over Ken or other producers.

I think her trying to do it again and do it differently is what she can do to kinda atone.

She should open a modeling agency where she can pick the models or sign the winner to her agency that way she can control everything instead of pawning them off to another agency who wont care for them.
