Because of Brandy and her bullshit. There's also the Adina Howard story too where she showed up on the set of Adina's video wanting to fight and Adina herself said that if Brandy was 18 she would've gotten handled. People are so quick to blame the adult instead of looking at the teenager who has the attitude and should've been handled accordingly. Ray J even said it on Family Business that Brandy has her issues when she brought up his bullshit.

I think Thea was threatened by Bran. Which is sad. Jaleel White had stolen Family Matters from Jo Marie Payton.
Now she had this multi-talented ass little girl on her show and she had to make sure the focus was on her.
Jason was talented too but it seems like he didn't argue against her and was just obedient and respectful.

I honestly kinda understand Jo Marie being mad. The show was literally a spin off of her character on perfect strangers.  She legit went from a lead character in the show to a supporting cast member to a teenager. Love Brandy but she wasnt gonna take over that show like Steve urkel. Her character was like THAT

But I can see Madea not taking chances with ANY of the kids outshining her. She was cracking the whip but Sonja might've been the only parent to push back. It didn't help that Brandy was the only daughter either.

I can see Thea trying to get ahead of it.

And truthfully -- Brandy's character could resonate with a younger crowd -- and they could have started doing more teenage storylines...

I mean -- MOESHA was a smash with a teenage girl...
