the wayans bros. sitcom was def a tea.
i'd say some of their movie stuff can tend to lean a lil cornier/poppy cuz it's def "pop culture" centered in a lot of ways
so it makes sense that some people say Keenan is black people funny if ur looking at and comparing their movies strictly
but if ur familiar with the sitcom that's where Shawn n Marlon really shined in regards to their connection with Black culture and their specific, unique way of expressing it.
IMO that was their brand of comedy in its most raw form. filled with a lot of "inside jokes" that a lot of non-Black people probably wouldn't get right off the bat.
not only funny, but they tackled a lot of real social issues...like one episode where this rich White lady was tryna turn Shawn into her Mandingo in order for him to close a deal (or keep his job..cant remember exactly what it was). it was a kii but there was real tea with an underlying seriousness too.
