Quote from: Vonc2002 on Today at 12:58:56 AMThese people know wtf they're doing. Oprah fckn Winfrey knows what saying something like this would mean and do. She was lookin for some attention and she got it.  How u protecting a woman's image by telling an audience to not release pictures and then coming behind them and telling this story unprompted? This was COMPLETELY distasteful.  It reminds me of when patti came to the front and confirmed Luther was gay.  I felt a lil LESS annoyed by that because Luther was in a see thru closet and we all knew but I understood why people were still bothered by it. This woman died because of drugs. Why tf would u come out here and add some more shit to the pot?

Tbf Andy lead Patti into that. I don't think Patti went WWHL intending to out Luther :kii:
And that is true.  Patti didn't just randomly say Oh luther was gay! I need to see this whole Lil thing because it looks like she just wanted any ol reason to say some controversial shit. Oprah trying to bring attention to them super soul Sundays or sumn
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

cool. Now what was the point of telling this audience that whitney was so high and relapsing that she came to the show falling off stage and shit? When someone is dead,  especially considering how she died,  we're not arbitrarily saying shit to tarnish their legacies.  Whitney is pretty highly regarded. And yes,  we already know she was on drugs but why was this necessary to reveal. ESPECIALLY in the same fckn breath that u said u went to great lengths to have it covered up :omf:

Justice Jackson

Quote from: RAY7 on Today at 09:56:57 AMPat Houston :uhh: made the statement that Whitney's fall actually happened at soundcheck or something so it wasn't actually in front of the live audience
Which makes more sense why no one leaked any video. Oprah likely wasn't begging them not to do it, she was threatening to fire them or sue

If this is what happened, Oprah need her ass whooped... By Monique
Ketanji Jackson has come this far by faith.

Ketanji Brown will still beatcho ass.

People being petty and spreading this video and asking if Oprah was high when she fell :dead:

not surprised her estate mentioned professionalism

i was def thinking a story like that just doesn't speak to "Whitney had drug issues"

it actually speaks to how seriously she took her career and major opportunities that were given to her.

this is why it matters that Oprah is directly sharing this "tea".

trust we wouldn't have been getting a statement from the estate if Tasha K dropped some mess

klappa.

how is this story tarnishing whit's legacy when it's a well and fully known fact that she was on that stuff? we (as in the community) literally replay, cackle at, and imitate her high shenanigans all the time. this story ain't made anyone see whit in any different light than what they already did based on blatantly known info. those that love her will continue to, those that's don't will continue to. this faux outrage is a kii.

it's kinda the equivalent of saying "we already know Michael Jackson was accused of molesting kids and that he admitted to sleeping in bed with boys so ain't nuttin wrong with Netflix releasing that doc around the same time his bio hit the movie theaters, long as they're telling the truth and not making anything up."

technically, yes it's not "wrong". but that's a very narrow POV in this type of conversation

there is such a thing as re-igniting a tea that may have been dormant for some time. and it's not in the artist's best interest, whether they are dead or alive. brand protection for stars as big as Whitney and Michael is an ongoing thing.

Whitney's estate made the right move by coming out to deny Oprah's claims if the goal is to keep these types of conversations to a minimum and keep the focus on the positive.

this is what would be in the best interest of Whitney's estate/brand.

Clive Davis recently passed and instead of everyone talking about Whitney's musical legacy and all the great work she did with him, and iconic songs.....what's trending now is her falling on stage cuz she was coked up on the Oprah show

that in itself should answer questions anyone has about why this is not good for her brand and why is her estate is running to the scene with fire extinguishers.

What Oprah did was wrong but Whitney has had way more embarrassing moments than just falling off the stage.....
