Brandy has never been a big note singer. She said she wanted it to have a laid back feel similar to NSN. B7 could've been amazing with the subject matter that was there...SZA, Summer Walker, Frank Ocean...none of those albums are big note but they are modern day classics that tell a story with good production....music is about vibes right now, not big notes

I'm not saying B7 needed more big notes or that the albums they have them are better. It's just clear that Brandy sings in a noticeably wider range on Full Moon and Human than she does on B7, which supports the idea that Darkchild pushed her to stretch vocally more on those albums.

With no Shiz to be her cheerleader and apply pressure on her she is lost. I remember she said on FM she and shiz would going before Rodney came at least sometimes. She always spoke about their friendship and how him believing in her meant everything. Brandy is elite one of one so she is tripping with all the unnecessary she doing on tracks.

After Shiz died she probably went touching stuff so the b7 we got prob isn't the one she crafted with him.

Since we know u are reading kween. U became that girl from the tones and interpretive singing. Get back to that pls
One thing she hasn't lost though is her ability to craft amazing arrangements

Interesting!  I've thought about this before too but mainly cuz she's done it so much more in the last year or so. One thing she never did until recently, was lip the national anthem and "Almost Doesn't Count" on the tour. That national anthem is when I became concerned for her vocal health because she has always tackled that song live and with relative ease in her range. I think she's getting over whatever that was though.

While she will obviously lip again, I do not think it will be as excessive in the future and she will sound healthier without the need for effects and such. She sounds really nice right now and very free.

Singing at her level is so similar to being an Athlete. It's the same for anyone really but with her back to back seizures in that short amount of time and who knows what else, I wonder if she's training her way back and doing a lot of practicing to get back in great vocal shape. I respect how often she trains and works to get that gift back in order and just doing upkeep on it in general. The voice is a very delicate instrument and hers is special so I hope she keeps trusting herself like she was during the Broadway and Slayana days.
