Artistic personality comes through music as well. Videos. etc.
Michael was damn near MUTE outside of the studio and stage, and had one of the biggest presences known to man.

BEyonce's personality as an artist is VERY strong as well.

!!! Personality does help but it's not the main factor at all. A lot of Adele fans don't even know she has a goofy side. A lot of her fans don't even know how to use a computer.

As for people comparing Carrie to Taylor, Taylor isn't selling more just because of her personality. Once again, Taylor (similar to Adele) appeals to a wider audience. Even when she was doing country, her music was very crossover and even received Top 40 airplay. So she had her hardcore country fans and then some. Kanye will also give you another reason why she sells more.

That's my point. Adele and Celine are talented that's why they are successful not because of their personality.
