Whites might not consciously see light/dark/medium, they WILL however subconsciously treat you differently/preferentially and/or feel less threatened by you.

f

"light! dark! mocha! honeynut!"

this is what white people see when they look at ya, coons

and that's kinda THAT

fffffffffgggggggg

Whites and other non-blacks don't just see "black", they see levels of blackness.

They see but they don't give a fuck. That's the point hun. To them black is black.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ive literally NEVER in my life heard a white person call someone lightskinned or any of that shit. It's black people that do that and try to divide and conquer
This is my pass to say WHATEVER tf I wanna say about the mess she releases so I don't wanna hear SHIT! Baby mama is a mess of a song btw

Beyonce definitely isn't VERY light

Of course she is. She is super super light to be "black".

She could be a one 4th to a one 8th mess.

You know she wears bronzener to look darker, but her natural skin color is apparently very pale.

Unfortunately that is absolutely untrue. They will treat you differently and talk to you differently based on their perceived degree of your blackness. A Halle Berry loking woman gets to walk through many white doors, a Viola Davis looking woman is simply denied.

They (non-blacks) often like their "blacks" to not be too black, unless they fetishize them in some weird way. And usually when a white person/woman says they are into "blacks", they mean the light/mixed ones, and not the pure, really dark blacks.

Sadly in the Western society beyond the black community, black is not just black.

You think you know everything.  :dead:

I'm speaking from experience with some of my own family. Whites don't harp on skin color like that and they never will.

A lot of white people will turn their own biracial grandchildren away because they want nothing to do with someone that is unpure. Which is why I believe many biracial people are quicker to cling to the Black community. They're quicker to claim their Blackness than 100% African Americans are. Which makes sense, considering that Blacks adore and uplift anything mixed, anything nondark and nonkinky while many Whites look down on it and don't want it near them. Family or not

:plzstop: what is high yellow? i'm over here crying
mariah carey, maybe a lisa raye ( i can't think of how yellow she is right now) but yea,  those bitches

Mariah is not yellow to me but redbone or yellowbone like Amber Rose and Prince.

Beyonc?, Chris Brown, Cassie I would consider high yella.  :plzstop:

s

Bey isn't high yellow. Mariah is just white, IMO.

yeah it is weird and not really logical the way we classify blacks, but we still do it. And whites do it too. And them trying to act all post-racial "we are the world", "Black is Black" is just ignorant and naive.

Dark blacks face much more adversity than light blacks do from non-blacks, that is just the bottom line.

And the average white person doesn't care what tone of brown you are. You're talking about an entirely different subject that's related to the industry.  :uhh:

Just appreciate your privilege if you are mixed and don't downplay the struggle of a truly dark skinned black person in this world. We are programmed to think differently and worse about them. You can see it in the way some people think about Africa to be honest.

Well we can agree to disagree. But the (average) white person does definitely see different shades of blackness. Consciously or not. It makes a difference. If you don't think so, that is a very optimistic approach to life, but imo not realistic at all.

I agree with this. I said earlier when it was said that somebody darker might try to say black is black because they are angry and mistreated within our community, that that's probably not the way it would go.  Black people give lighter people a harder time historically.  If ANYBODY was gonna be saying "hey ALL BLACK. One love" it would be the light brights
