Thats on them to market themselves and keep the money rolling in. Ya'll kill me trying to dictate what people should and shouldn't do to prove that they like people. I don't think MOST people care about buying an album for the purpose of making sure the artist is getting a check. If that was the case streaming wouldn't be a thing and it wouldnt be a part of figures.

I guess I'm in the minority on this subject.Its really only helping the most popular artist(with a few exceptions) who are already selling well .
For ex, on Spotify alone
Adele 21.4M monthly listeners
Justin Beiber 31M
Jazmine 619K
Tinashe 3.1M
Chris Brown 11.7M
Tamar 287K
Nicki 11.2M
Rihanna 31.1M
Ciara 2.9M
Monica 1.23M
Bryson Tiller 7.8M

But this is a business and the RIAA charges $350 for each certification and there were only 3 platinum albums in 2014.

And to be honest, all yall need to be going up cause outside of Adele, Taylor and maybe a few country artists or some shit, no one is a force in album sales. This is a change to reflect the time and how people are consuming their music
